LA Salle advanced to the Finals for the fifth consecutive year after turning back National University, 25-18, 25-23, 25-18, on Saturday in the 75th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.

Sophomores Ara Galang and Mika Reyes had 15 and 14 points, respectively, for La Salle, which is looking to win its third consecutive title under coach Ramil de Jesus.

The Lady Spikers will face Ateneo, which beat Adamson in straight sets in the other semifinal.

“Hindi ko na mabilang (championship streak) pero basta kami sa practice handa kami every season,” said de Jesus, who has seven championships with the Lady Spikers in his 14 years with the Taft-based squad.

The Lady Spikers took only 80 minutes to dispose of the Lady Bulldogs and record their 14th straight match after losing the season-opener to University of Santo Tomas.

“After our first against UST sabi ko sa kanila hindi na pwede masundan yun,” said De Jesus.
