Ageless Venus eclipses Super Liga youngsters to win maiden MVP award

AFTER a six-year long layoff, Venus Bernal proved she is still at the top of her game as she was voted the first Most Valuable Player of the Philippine Super Liga.

The 26-year-old former UAAP MVP out of University of Santo Tomas left much younger players in the shade as she collected 103 statistical points in her stint with Cignal HD.

Three Bernal teammates at Cignal HD also received individual awards, with Honey Tubino named as Best Blocker, Arriane Argarin as the Best Setter and Jen Reyes as the Best Receiver.

Pau Soriano of PLDT MyDSL got the nod as the Best Scorer while Philippine Army's setter Tina Salak bagged the Best Blocker award.

Cagayan Valley's Sandra delos Santos bagged the Best Server honor and Lady Rising Suns' teammate Jheck Dionela earned the Best Libero award.
