USAIN BOLT set a new Olympic record time in retaining his 100-meter sprint crown on Sunday in the London Games.

The 25-year-old Bolt topped the century dash in 9.63 seconds to win the event back-to-back after dominating it in Beijing 2008. The winning time in Beijing and previous Olympic best was 9.69 and the current world record is 9.58, set by Bolt in the 2009 world championships.

Reigning world champion Yohan Blake made it a 1-2 for Jamaica with a 9.75-second performance.

Justin Gatlin of the United states, winner in the 2004 Athens Summer Games, clocked 9.79 in taking the bronze.

Bolt seeks to complete a sweep of the sprint double when he sees action in the 200 meter dash.
