The Fighting Maroons continued their surprising run in the three-day meet and are now 4-0.
Victories by UP over University of the East and La Salle on Tuesday would give the Diliman-based jins the championship.
The Green Archers, meanwhile, proved to be a big threat to University of Santo Tomas’ reign, as La Salle defeated the defending champions, 5-2.
The Archers and the Growling Tigers are in joint second with identical 4-1 records.
UST bounced back from its loss to La Salle with a 6-1 thumping of Far Eastern University.
UE drubbed Ateneo, 5-2, for its second win in five outings to take fourth place.
