ERIC Kelly kept his end of the bargain but fellow headliner Eduard Folayang went down in defeat during the Universal Realty Combat Championship fight card at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday night.

Featherweight champ Kelly found a way to beat Brad Terry via armbar decision in the final round despite fighting with one eye closed by a huge Terry blow as he extended his unbeaten streak to nine in the well-attended fight card marking the 10th anniversary of the URCC outfit.

“I just did my best to win,” said Kelly, the 27-year-old from Baguio City. “Ganoon ang lahing Pilipino, hindi sumusuko kahit putok na ang isang mata.”

Folayang, however, met a contrasting fate, losing to Lowen Tynanes via technical knockout at the 6:22 mark of the first round after an elbow opened a huge cut above Folayang's right eye.

The fight doctor decided to stop the match with Folayang, the defending URCC welterweight champion, bathing in his own blood.

The 20-year old Tynanes, a former two-time Hawaii high school state champion, kept his professional record unblemished with his fourth straight win.

Folayang, on the other hand, absorbed his third URCC loss against his 14 victories.

With one eye closed since the first round, Kelly still managed to take control as he launched a power kick that knocked Terrey off his feet. The Australian, however, held his ground and was quick to counterattack later in the second round.

Kelly finally ended the fight at the 2:10 mark of the final round.

Earlier, Lito Adiwang claimed his second win in the pinweight division as he beat a debuting Junjun Sinco.

In the flyweight division, Dennis Salazar evened his record to 3-3 after beating Roy 'The Demolisher' Doliguez, who absorbed his first loss after winning his first two matches in the URCC.

Jonathan Sumogat downed Russel Iniong (1-2) for his fourth straight win while Reydon Romero improved his win-loss card to 4-4 after he pounded Sulpiano Laurio (1-2-1) in the featherweight division.

Former URCC light heavyweight champion Caloy Baduria cruised to his eighth win against four losses with a technical knockout of Panchito Estroso.

Rodrigo Praxedes snatched the URCC middleweight title after he thumped Froilan Sarenas while reigning URCC bantamweight champion Jessie Rafols held off Kieff Mangusan to claim his seventh win in 10 fights.

Onyok Transmonte improved his record to 3-2 after he denied Japanese Hideo Morikawa (4-2) in the bantamweight divison.
