Japan-based Mixed Martial Arts organization Dream is reportedly finally closing shop after years of struggle.
Dream had cancelled an event originally scheduled in July and on Sunday mma-japan.com reported the MMA outfit is “no longer a going concern.”
Parent company Fighting and Entertainment Group had earlier filed for bankruptcy, according to a private credit research firm.
FEG also earlier had trouble paying what was supposed to be “guaranteed” prizes to fighters. One fighter was reportedly paid more than a year after his fight.
Kickboxing association K-1, also under FEG, has also been suffering from financial troubles according to reports, and last year it was dropped from Japanese network television.
