FILIPINO boxing great Manny Pacquiao has made it at No. 2 on Esquire's list of the best 50 athletes in the world.
The popular men’s magazine listed the 33-year-old Pacquiao at No. 2 behind tennis star and topnotcher Roger Federer, and ahead by a few notches of boxing rival Floyd Mayweather Jr, who landed at No.6.
Esquire based the rankings on its own set of criteria that includes performance (MVP and championships), social media (YouTube and Google hits), money (Google hits for `charity’ and listing on Forbes), and negatives (Google hits on `scandal’).
Reigning MVP Lebron James of NBA champion Miami Heat comes behind Pacquiao at No. 3, followed by tennis superstar Rafael Nadal, and celebrated golfer Tiger Woods.
Following Mayweather at No. 7 is American rock climber Conrad Anker, triathlete Chrissie Wellington, hockey player Sidney Crosby and rodeo star Trevor Brazile.
Five of the athletes in the Top 10 are Americans while the other half are foreigners (Federer, Pacquiao, Nadal, Wellington, and Crosby).
Boxing and tennis had two each on the Top 10 list.
