Cedric Bozeman, Ginebra’s American import, knew exactly what he had to say when asked about the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley world title fight on Sunday in Las Vegas.
“I’m gonna say Pacquiao. You know I’m in the Philippines so I can’t say Bradley,” Bozeman, a California native like Bradley, chuckled during Ginebra's practice at the Xavier School gym.
Kidding aside, Bozeman believes the Filipino ring icon will retain his World Boxing Organization welterweight crown against his countryman.
“I think Pacquiao might be a little bit too quick for Bradley. I’ve seen Bradley fight a couple times. He’s a good fighter, but I don’t think he’s as fast as Pacquiao. So that’s going to be (Pacquiao’s) advantage.”
For Mark Caguioa, who has appeared in Ginebra commercials with the Pacman, he has no doubt what the outcome of the fight will be.
“Of course Manny Pacquiao’s gonna win—sino pa ba?”
Gin Kings coach Siot Tanquingcen, however, is a little bit worried.
“Syempre I would like Pacquiao to win. Hindi ko pa nakita kung ano laro ni Bradley, but my main concern is this is one of the few instances that he’s gonna go up against a younger, hungrier fighter. Yun lang ang medyo kinakatakutan ko. But I pray for Manny to win.”
With Pacquiao's win almost a certainly, he should more to worry about how the Gin Kings will fare against sister team Petron later in the day.
