EFREN “Bata” Reyes advanced to the final 16 of the Predator World Tournament of 14.1 (straight pool) in New York City.
Reyes remained unbeaten after defeating Brandon Shuff, 150-33, as he continues to roll in the tournament.
The legendary Filipino pool player drew a first-round bye in the knockout stages after going undefeated as the third-seeded player.
Reyes is joined in the round-of-16 by nine-ball stars Thorsten Hohmann, Darren Appleton and Johnny Archer.
Hohmann defeated Mika Immonen, 150-44, Appleton overcame Zaid Thweid, 150-108, and Archer won over Earl Strickland, 150-73.
Strickland and Immonen, however, still made it to the final 16 after winning in the losers’ bracket. Strickland downed Holden Chin, 150-65, while Immonen ousted Steve Lipsky, 150-27.
