REIGNING MVP Jerie Pingoy unloaded 24 points as the Far Eastern University-Diliman Baby Tamaraws extended their unbeaten run to 12 games with a 76-55 thumping of the Adamson Baby Falcons in the UAAP Season 75 juniors basketball tournament on Sunday at the Filoil Flying V Arena.
Pingoy shared the limelight with Thirdy Ravena, the younger brother of collegiate star Kiefer Ravena who had a triple-double with 21 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists as the Ateneo Blue Eaglets moved closer to claiming the last semifinal berth by subduing La Salle-Zobel, 92-80, for a 7-5 record.
Defending champions National University Bullpups, meanwhile, beat UP Integrated School, 63-55, to clinch the twice-to-beat incentive in the semis with a 11-1 record, while the University of Santo Tomas Tiger Cubs beat the University of the East Junior Warriors, 75-52, for their 8-4 card in third place.
In women's play at the Mall of Asia Arena, Aracelie Abaca shot 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as the La Salle Lady Archers assured themselves of a playoff for the twice-to-beat semis incentive with a 75-64 drubbing of the NU Lady Bulldogs.
Sherry Luna had 13 points as the UP Lady Maroons ended their season with a 66-61 win over the UE Lady Warriors for a 2-12 record.
