JERIC ESTRADA starred anew for defending champion San Beda and Leo de Vera came up huge again for San Sebastian College as the Lions and Stags scored big wins recently in the 10th Fr. Martin Division 2 Cup basketball tournament.
Estrada scored 13 points as the Red Lions downed Far Eastern University, 63-58, at the St. Placid gymnasium in San Beda for their fifth straight victory.
De Vera made 25 points as the Stags defeated Mapua, 88-56, to register their fifth in seven outings.
Both the Red Lions and the Stags remained in contention for one of four quarterfinal slots in their bracket.
Emilio Aguinaldo College beat Angeles University Foundation, 69-61, Perpetual Help trounced Trinity, 73-61, and Jose Rizal University defeated Arellano University, 68-61 in overtime.
