HIS wish for a trade finally granted, big man Japeth Aguilar is bound for home any time now.

Reports that reached Spin.ph had the enigmatic center already booking a flight back to Manila TO join his new team Globalport in practice as early as next week.

The former Western Kentucky University back-up just came from a retreat in Dallas under the supervision of the Aguilar family’s pastor as he reflected on the future of his playing career.

From Dallas, Aguilar returned to Chicago where his father, former Ginebra player Peter, is currently based.

Marvin Espiritu, the Philippine agent of Japeth, confirmed the big man is set for a Philippine comeback after months of staying in the US as he pursued his dream of playing in the NBA.

“Kakausapin ko sila mamaya (Thursday evening, Manila time), tapos dun ko na ire-relay `yung message regarding his flight and other details,” bared Espiritu.

Even Aguilar’s dad, Peter, has told Espiritu that the hard slamming 6-9 forward will return as soon as he gets the trade he wants.

Aguilar’s father also assured that his son will fly back home the soonest possible time after Talk `N Text traded his rightS to Globalport in exchange for fellow Atenean Rabeh Al-Hussaini.

“Pag na-trade `yung bata, uuwi yun,” Espiritu quoted the elder Aguilar as saying.

Globalport coach Junel Baculi welcomed the news of Aguilar’s return, even assuring the controversial 26-year-old center that he will have ample playing time with the Batang Pier – something which Aguilar claims he failed to get with the Tropang Texters.

“Dito sa amin may playing time si Japeth,” said Baculi.

“May laro na kami sa Friday, Petron pa. Kaya kailangan makapag-run through ng plays kahit tatlo o apat na araw,” added the Globalport coach.
