THE first piece in Ateneo's rebuilding process fell into place on Wednesday when Thirdy Ravena committed to play for the Blue Eagles and play alongside his brother Kiefer in the UAAP beginning next season.

The younger Ravena made the announcement via Twitter, saying he had committed to play for the Blue Eagles in the UAAP as he looks forward to be teammates with his celebrated elder brother.

“It's official. Finally teammates with @kieferravena for the first time,” Thirdy, the reigning MVP of the UAAP juniors division, wrote on his @ThirdyRavenaaa account.

Ravena is one of several pieces expected to boost the Blue Eagles a season after the former five-time champions missed out on a place in the Final Four.

Aside from Ravena, also expected to bolster a Ateneo lineup which lost JP Erram and Frank Golla from last season are San Beda high school star Arvin Tolentino, Hope Christian School standouts Clint Doliguez and John Apacible, and National University star Hubert Cani.
