RITCHIE Ticzon has returned to Far Eastern University months after he was relieved as head coach of GlobalPort in the PBA.
Anton Montinola, FEU’s representative to the UAAP board, confirmed to Spin.ph that Ticzon has joined the school again after being spotted several times at the stands during the various preseason games of the Tamaraws.
Montinola said Ticzon won’t necessarily be a part of the FEU coaching staff, but added he will play a role once head coach Nash Racela and deputy Josh Reyes temporarily leave the Tamaraws in late August for the Fiba World Cup in Spain.
Both Racela and Reyes are part of the coaching staff of Gilas Pilipinas mentor Chot Reyes.
“He will assist coach Nash with the team especially when coach Nash and coach Josh leave for the Fiba-World Cup with Gilas Pilipinas late August during the UAAP tournament,” said Montinola.
Ticzon handled GlobalPort for one conference during the Philippine Cup early this season before being replaced by former University of Santo Tomas coach Pido Jarencio.
Prior to his stint with GlobalPort, Ticzon was an assistant coach of FEU.
