ADAMSON walloped University of the East 89-69 on Saturday in a match between also-rans in the UAAP seniors basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Already out of the running for the Final Four slot, the Falcons forged a tie for sixth place with the Red Warriors at 3-10 won-lost with one match left for each squad.
Adamson shot 50 percent from the field (34-of-68), including 13-of-28 from beyond the arc, in the one-sided victory.
Jericho Cruz led the Falcons with 21 points, while Roider Cabrera fired 15 points on five-of-eight shooting from three-point range. Rodney Brondial and Eric Camson had 14 and 10 points, respectively.
Adamson head coach Leo Austria said that the Falcons want to end the season with a bang.
“We have nothing to lose, wala nang pressure kaya lumabas ang kumpiyansa nila,” said Austria.
The Falcons try to play the spoilers’ role as they wrap up their season on Thursday against semifinal contender La Salle at the MOA Arena.
Roi Sumang led the Red Warriors with 24 points, including the only three-point conversion of the Red Warriors in 22 attempts.
The Falcons, who already had a 28-14 lead in the first quarter thanks to 11 points from Cruz, also dished out more assists than the Red Warriors, 29-9.
