THE Philippine national baseball team plays two exhibition games at the Rizal ballpark as part of their buildup for the Asian Championships and the Asia qualifiers of the World Baseball Classic.
The Nationals battle Indonesia on Friday afternoon in a rematch of the gold medal match of the 2011 Southeast Asian Games in Palembang, Indonesia.
On Sunday, the Philippine team will face a selection from Baseball Philippines as part of the celebration of Fil-Am Friendship Day. US Ambassador Harry Thomas will be the guest of honor during the game.
It will be the first time the Pinoy batters will face Indonesia since the Filipinos' 2-0 victory in the Southeast Asian Games last year.
The national team is composed of Ruben Angeles, Ernesto Binarao, Francis Candela, Christian Canlas, Darwin Dela Calzada, Vladimir Eguia, Roel Empacis, Christian Galedo, Romeo Jasmin, Charlie Labrador, Marvin Malig, Carlos Munoz and Alfredo Olivarez.
Saxon Omandac, Joseph Orillana, Joennard Pareja, Junnifer Pinero, Jonash Ponce, Fulgencio Rances, Jon Jon Robles, Rommel Roja and Justine Zialcita are also included in the national team roster.
