Inigo brothers Achie, Axel start early in securing life after basketball with food business venture
Inigo brothers Achie and Axel have started to prepare early for life after basketball with their food stall Nomz Nomz.

BROTHERS Achie and Axel Inigo have opened up a new food place in Las Pinas, recognizing this early the importance of investing and getting ready for life after basketball.

The Inigos have recently put up Nomz Nomz, one of the food stalls in the newly-opened Localle Food Park located at BF Resort Village in Las Pinas City.

Achie said he and his family opened up the new place, happy to enter into the business world through basketball. He bared that part of the capital came from his earnings during his stint with the Kaohsiung Truth in the Asean Basketball League.

Selected at No. 18 in the 2016 PBA draft, Achie is aware that opening up a business is the way to go for basketball players like him.

"Hindi naman hanggang pagtanda ang basketball. Kailangan din sa future ko," said Achie, a former Far Eastern University cager whose brother Axel is now part of the Tamaraws.

With her elder sister Annie as the chef, Achie makes sure he helps in any way he can in the food stall.

"Nag-aassist ako, waiter, kumukuha ng order. 'Yung sister ko talaga 'yung chef," said Achie, who last played with Marinerong Pilipino in the PBA D-League and is currently a practice player for Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas.

So far, their products have been well-received by customers as Achie pointed to their chicaron bulaklak and beef wagyu as the best-sellers of their stall that serves comfort food targeting mostly millennials.

"Sold out agad 'yung chicharon bulaklak. Minsan nga, pa-close na, dami pa rin nag-oorder," he said, hoping for an expansion in the near future.

"Siguro po, if will ni Lord na mas malaki pa o mas maraming store, gagawin po naming ganun," said Achie.
