ADAMSON celebrated its Pep Squad’s historic victory in the UAAP Cheerdance Competition with one former member of the seventies band that provided the inspiration for the school's winning routine in attendance.

Male Rigor of VST & Co., whose music served as the background for the Adamson Pep Squad's smashing performance on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena, graced the bonfire party on Wednesday at the AdU campus in San Marcelino St., Manila.

“First of all I’m very happy for Adamson that they won the UAAP Cheerdance championship,” said Rigor. “So I personally came here to congratulate them.”

Rigor went up on stage and sang the song “Awitin Mo At Isasayaw Ko” along with the members of the Pep Squad while the Adamson community sang and danced along.

Rigor also mentioned that the other members of the iconic VST & Co. band, which included Tito and Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Spanky and Roger Rigor, were happy that the UAAP Cheerdance champs used their song in the winning six-minute routine.

“The group members of VST & Co., including Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, were impressed kasi millennial music na ngayon eh. Our music is, imagine, 40 years ago pa,” he said.

“I’m very proud and very touched kasi the students of today love the music of 40 years ago,” he added.
