BO Perasol has been formally appointed head coach of the University of the Philippines.
UP chancellor Michael Tan made Perasol’s appointment as head coach official on Monday, two days before the Maroons begin their preseason campaign in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup.
Perasol, a former Maroon, returns to the UP campus after his three-year stint with Ateneo which he led to two Final Four appearances during his time in charge.
His appointment, which SPIN.ph has reported as early as February, has the full support of the Maroons' backers from the alumni group headed by current team manager Dan Palami.
He replaced Rensy Bajar.
