Post-basketball career perhaps? PBA veteran Jerwin Gaco shows he can carry a tune
Jerwin Gaco belts out a song during a night out with the Tanduay team.

IF he can’t make a PBA comeback, can Jerwin Gaco just try to take a different path?

The veteran journeyman showed a thing or two about singing last week when his current team, Tanduay, took some time to unwind and enjoy after an 81-72 win over Racal the PBA D-League Foundation Cup.

Getting a two-day break after the third-seeded squad gained some steam heading into the playoffs, the Rhum Masters enjoyed some drinks at Garahe Ni TJ, a new bar near Paco Park in Manila.

There, the 36-year-old Gaco went on stage to belt out a few songs, including Basil Valdez’s “You” and “Wherever You Will Go” by The Calling, in an open videoke night.

“Concert na ‘to,” Gaco said in between songs, drawing laughter from the crowd and teammates Von Tambeling, James Martinez, Jaymo Eguilos, Jay-R Taganas, and Rocky Acidre.

There's no doubt Gaco can carry a tune. But is he capable of a career shift or is the five-time PBA champion better off staying in basketball?

You be the judge.
