RAIN or Shine continued its rejig of its core on Monday, sending rookie Mike Tolomia to Meralco for fellow Gilas Pilipinas cadet Ed Daquioag.
The swap of rookies was announced by the PBA just hours after the league approved a trade that brought longtime Rain or Shine star Jeff Chan to Phoenix for Mark Borboran and a 2017 second-round draft pick.

Both Tolomia and Daquioag are part of the Gilas side that is set to fly the flag for the Philippines in the coming Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur.
They are also the second set of cadets to swap places after Von Pessumal (now with San Miguel) and Arnold Van Opstal (GlobalPort).
Under the terms of the special draft held last year, the league has allowed trades between Gilas cadets except in the case of consensus top pick Mac Belo.
