OTHYUS Jeffers is eager to return for another tour of duty with Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Governors’ Cup after failing to lead the Gin Kings past the quarterfinals in the Commissioner’s Cup.

The Gin Kings’ have been forced to take yet another early vacation after Rain or Shine swept them in their best-of-three quarterfinal series with a 109-89 decision in Game Two on Tuesday.

“If everything works out, I'll be back in July,” Jeffers said. “We didn't get the details about that yet. We're still dealing about this loss.”

Jeffers, who stands 6’2” 3/4, believes his return will be good for the continuity of the program as he and the rest of the Gin Kings try to becom comfortale under Tim Cone's triangle offense.

On his likely return, Jeffers said, “It's an advantage for Ginebra because we didn't have to deal with working with another person and start all over again.

“On the overall PBA side, it's basketball. Teams will make adjustments. Teams are going to bring in imports.”

Jeffers envied the Elasto Painters for the consistency despite them having to change imports a handful of times this conference.

“Rain or Shine has been in the semis for the ninth conference in a row, they know what to do,” Jeffers said. “It's just getting Ginebra to the point that they're contenders every conference like Rain or Shine and you can learn that with consistency, team camaraderie, and staying together at the same page.”

“Ginebra will be back,” he added. “We're still learning each other, but the sky is the limit. The more we get to work, we have time off but we got a little bit more time to come back if it works out to work on the things that we could work on.”
