TEAM owner Manny V. Pangilinan was qiuck to warn the Meralco Bolts to be ready for a fightback by a ‘hungry’ Ginebra iside n Game Two of the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals.

Pangilinan was full of praise for the Bolts after they came back from the 16-points down to win series opener in overtime, 114-109, on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“It was a good game, a good game,” MVP told SPIN.ph. “They (Bolts) didn’t give up, they were down by 14 points at one time and they just came back, so good game.”

But the longtime sports patron was quick to temper the celebrations and insisted that it’s still too early to celebrate, especially against a team that has not won a championship in eight years.

“Yeah, sure it’s still too early. It’s just the first game of the series, up to seven possibly,” he said.

“Oo, babawi ‘yun, Ginebra is a good team. They will come back for sure so we got to be ready in Game Two,” he added.

Pangilinan said he has one wish not only for Meralco but for all of the teams under the PLDT umbrella in the PBA – play with the grit and determination the Bolts showed in Game One.

“Yes, I hope they play like that every game and not just for Meralco but for all our teams," said Pangilinan, "that’s the kind of game that they should play.”
