LOS ANGELES - GlobalPort showed its dedication for its youth movement as it signed three of the rookie players it picked in the last PBA draft.

NCAA slam dunk champ Lervin Flores, Joseph Gabayni, and Julian Sargent all came to terms with the Batang Pier on Tuesday (Manila time).

Flores, a first round draft pick, and Sargent both signed to two-year contracts, while Gabayni was given a one year deal.

Terms of the contracts, however, were not made available.

Also coming on board the Batang Pier is guard Nico Elorde, who inked a one-year contract. The former Ateneo stalwart was released by KiA as unrestricted free agent.

Ironically, the trio of Flores, Gabayni, and Sargent were acquired in a trade with Star hours after the draft.

The Hotshots sent the three in a package for the rights to Robbie Herndon and Gian Abrigo. Herndon was selected by Globalport as the no. 6 overall pick. Abrigo, though, has been among the final cuts in Star’s process of finalizing its roster.

The three rookies will join forces with regulars Terrence Romeo, Stanley Pringle, Sean Anthony, Bradwyn Guinto, Jonathan Grey, Ryan Arana, and Arnold Van Opstal to make up coach Pido Jarencio's roster for the coming PBA 43rd season.

Released by the team as unrestricted free agents are veterans Mike Cortez, Billy Mamaril, and Rico Maierhofer, who is now with Alab Pilipinas in the Asean Basketball League.
