WITH losses piling up one after the other, Globalport has decided to take a drastic step by bringing in Malcolm White as import replacement for Sean Williams in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
White is set to suit up for the Batang Pier in their 3 p.m. showdown with fellow winless-team Blackwater in the first game of the Petron’s Saturday Special double-header at the Mall of Asia Arena.
After Globalport suffered a third straight loss on Wednesday night at the hands of Barangay Ginebra, 113-96, coach Franz Pumaren admitted plans to replace Williams, although the team faces the dilemma given the three-day window in between games.
In comes White.
Measured at 6-foot-9, the 28-year-old White suited up for Louisiana State University in college from 2010-2012. He was not drafted in the NBA Rookie Draft that same year, though.
He previously played for the Halifax Hurricanes in the National Basketball League (NBL) and the Santeros de Aguada in the Liga Americas.
