ASIDE from the usual banners and balloons, fans of the Star Hotshots came armed with aprons and ladles for Game Five of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals against Ginebra on Friday night.
Two days after a Game Four loss marred by a controversy over a 'cooking' gesture done by Star forward Allein Maliksi, Hotshots fans showed up at the Mall of Asia Arena dressed in bright yellow aprons, with some bringing ladles to complete the outfit.
Star fans told SPIN.ph during the halftime break that they were merely showing their support for the team which they felt got the short end of the stick in Game Four.
Maliksi and Pingris were fined P20,000 and P15,000, respectively, for comments about 'cooking' in the aftermath of the Game Four loss, but the fans were unfazed, Hernandez said.
“Hindi po ako natatakot (ma-fine)," Hernandez said.
