SAN Sebastian forged a triple tie at fourth spot in the NCAA Season 93 after blasting College of St. Benilde 73-61 on Thursday at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

The victory moved the Stags to 6-6, joining Letran and Emilio Aguinaldo College for the final spot in the semis picture.

With the Blazers gamely hanging around after three quarters, the Stags went on a three-point shooting spree in the final period to take the fight out of the confident Benilde squad, converting six from downtown.

Returning San Sebastian guard Renzo Navarro was in the forefront of that attack, drilling four of that six, including back to back conversions to give the Stags a 70-52 advantage with 3:28 to go.

"Kahit sino naman talaga sa amin, if given those shots titira talaga. Yun yung key ng panalo namin, hindi nila alam kung sino ang puputok," said Stags coach Egay Macaraya.

"Kung papasok kami ng Final Four, parang nanalo na kami ng championship. I guess the boys really want to be there, gusto talaga nila ma-experience," he added.

As a team, the Stags were just unstoppable from down as they made more threes in this game as they had in two point field goals made.

The Stags made 13 triples, with Navarro draining five of his six attempts from downtown.

Navarro finished with 16 points to lead his squad which led from start to finish.

Off a controversial week, Michael Calisaan was steady with 11 points and 11 rebounds as Ryan Costelo added 10 points, three rebounds and three assists.

Clement Leutcheu led the Blazers with 15 points and nine rebounds but that effort might be overshadowed by his eight turnovers.

The loss sent the Blazers back to earth as they fell to 3-9 for the season.
