DON'T look now but young Jeric Fortuna may soon find himself wearing a San Miguel Beer uniform.

According to sources, San Miguel management is looking to beef up the Beermen's backcourt by acquiring the former University of Santo Tomas guard from Barako Bull in exchange for veteran Paolo Hubalde.

The papers for the one-on-one trade could reach the PBA office for approval by Tuesday, sources added.

Fortuna, picked at 14th overall by Barako Bull in last year's PBA rookie draft, has impressed in his rookie season with Barako Bull despite playing in limited minutes behind Denok Miranda.

If the trade pushes through, the 5-8 Fortuna can give the Beermen's backcourt a new dimension being a true point guard - totally different from Chris Ross and Sol Mercado.

On the other hand, Hubalde, son of former Crispa great Freddie Hubalde, is a nine-year veteran who has spent the last three years with the Beermen as a third-string point guard.
