LYCEUM scored its first win in NCAA Season 92, downing Jose Rizal University, 69-66, on Friday at The Arena in San Juan.
Mike Nzeusseu and Adrian Alban sparked a late run, combining for 20 of the team's 24 points in the final quarter, to help the Pirates chalk up a win after three losses.
Nzeusseu and Alban finished with 24 and 19 points, respectively. Nzeusseu also collared 21 rebounds.
"We're still 1-3... there's nothing to celebrate," said Lyceum coach Topex Robinson.
Alban made his presence felt inside the last three minutes and uncorked a booming triple with 1:13 to go to give Lyceum a 66-60 lead.
But Teytey Teodoro responded with a triple of his own off a timeout, followed by another three-pointer by Jordan Dela Paz to cut the lead dwon to two, 68-66, with 13.4 ticks left.
Nzeusseu made just one of two free throws on the next possession, but made up for his missed freebie with an emphatic block on a Dela Paz drive.
Ervin Grospe and Teodoro led JRU with 16 and 14 points, respectively, as the Heavy Bombers fell to a 1-3 card.
