REY Nambatac ran riot with 40 points as Letran downed San Sebastian, 90-77, on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 92 seniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Nambatac put up the best scoring output by one player this season while also hauling down 10 rebounds as the defending champions Knights improved to 4-1 (win-loss).
McJour Luib added 12 points for the Knights, who continued their recovery after bowing to San Beda in the opener.
Nambatac scored 12 right in the first quarter before leading Letran to a 43-38 halftime lead after a second quarter that saw the Knights outscore the Stags, 20-10.
The Letran star tallied 20 in the second half to keep the Stags at bay.
Regille Ilagan had 23 points for the Stags, who stumbled to their third loss in four matches under first-year coach Egay Macaraya.
