MANNY Pacquiao has promised a bonus of P100,000 each for Letran players following the Knights' title victory over San Beda in the NCAA Season 91 men’s basketball finals.

Pacquiao, in his first year as the team's backer, made the promise after witnessing a brave Knights stand in an 85-82 victory that put an end to the school's decade-long title drought in the country's oldest collegiate league.

The boxing hero, incidentally, also watched Letran's Game One victory from the bench, but wasn't around when San Beda won Game Two on Tuesdsy to force a winner-take-all match.

However, it isn't certain if Pacquiao's incentive plan won't fall foul of NCAA rules, even in the advent of open basketball.

Bonuses are common in the PBA and other professional leagues but are rarely announced in college leagues, if there are any.
