GRIZZLIES star trio of Mike Conley, Marc Gasol, and Zach Randolph spearheaded a brutal third-quarter beatdown that led to a 105-94 win over San Antonio Spurs at the FedEx Forum on Thursday (Friday, Manila time) in Game 3 of their first-round NBA playoffs series.

Conley, Gasol and Randolph all scored above 20 to lead a Grizzlies balanced attack that got them trailing 2-1 after their first victory in the playoff matchup against the Spurs. The Memphis guard had 24 points to lead all scorers, while the Grizzlies frontcourt duo of Gasol and Randolph had 21 apiece.

After Kawhi Leonard scored 16 points in a tightly-contested first half, the Grizzlies defense showed its teeth in the third, holding the Spurs star scoreless in the period and keeping the San Antonio team to just 33% percent on the floor.

Memphis also got off to an 8-0 start after the break and outscored San Antonio 31-17 in the period to extend a four-point halftime lead to 18, 81-63, into the fourth quarter. Conley got going in the final frame and pushed the Grizzlies lead to 22 with 7:13 to play, before Spurs coach Gregg Popovich went with his reserves the rest of the way.

Leonard ended up scoring only two points after the break to finish with 18 markers. LaMarcus Aldridge had a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Patty Mills was the only other Spur in double figures with 11.
