RAY Parks has been picked by the Texas Legends in the NBA Development League draft on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time).
The rising Filipino basketball star, twice an MVP in the UAAP, was drafted 25th overall, sixth in the second round.
Parks is the first Filipino to play in the NBA Summer League, seeing action with the Dallas Mavericks.
Former San Antonio Spur Jeff Ayres was taken first by the Idaho Stampede before fellow former Spur Jimmer Fredette was picked by the Westchester Knicks.
Victor Nguidjol, a former import for Lyceum in the Philippine collegiate league NCAA, was taken 16th overall by the Austin Spurs.
The Legends are an affiliate of the Mavericks, who can call up Parks anytime.
Texas did not have a first round pick, and the photo of its top choice Parks appeared on the NBA D-League website.
