LA Salle coach Aldin Ayo blasted the officiating after the Green Archers' close call against Lyceum, 100-99, in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup semifinals on Friday afternoon.

Ayo hardly looked a frustrated man for much of the second half and his mood hardly changed after Santi Santillan made a late three-point play to save the Green Archers from an upset.

He then trained his guns at the referees.

"There were lots of things that happened during the game that hindi namin kontrolado," said Ayo. "We were up by seven points and may mga nangyari na hindi namin kontrolado."

When pressed further, Ayo said some questionable calls led to free throws that allowed Lyceum to eat up on the La Salle lead and post a two-point advantage with 10 seconds left to play.

Overall, La Salle was 21-of-24 from the free throw line while LPU went 20-of-27.

"Sangkaterba, pare," said Ayo when asked what were the specific calls he believed were questionable. "'Yung lamang kami ng seven points, tapos puro free throws 'yun.

"Offensive foul ni Ricci (Rivero), nag-isip muna (ang referee) eh. Tapos may three points dun na (nakatapak sa linya), counted as three points ... There are a lot of things na sana, hindi na mangyari sa (finals sa) Sunday," said Ayo.

Ayo said their jobs as coaches are on the line during games - and the least  the referees could do is call it fair.

"Kami naglalaro lang kami, sila tatawag. Naka-depende kami sa kanila. Kami nagtatrabaho kami buong taon, we practice every game, tapos sisirain lang ng mga ganoong tawag. I think it's unfair for us. Tapos tatawanan kami na (parang) walang nangyari."

The La Salle coach later appealed for fairness from the referees in the coming championship game against San Beda on Sunday.

"They had their jobs. We have our jobs. 'Yung trabaho namin, naka-depende sa tawag nila. Sorry for that pero totoo naman yun eh.

"Hopefully, by Sunday, fair 'yung tawagan. Maganda ang tawagan. Kasi ang ganda ganda ng basketball. Ang ganda ng laro tapos may mga ganung klaseng nangyayari.

"It's unfair for the teams that are playing. It's unfair for the fans who are watching. Everybody deserves a good game," said Ayo.
