AT least one Filipino NBA aspirant is available to play for the Philippine national team.

Kobe Paras expressed his desire to play for Gilas Pilipinas after Kiefer Ravena and Ray Parks decided to skip the Fiba Asia Challenge Cup next month to focus on their individual dreams, for now.

The incoming Creighton rookie posted on his Twitter account on Thursday that he is pondering the possibility of playing for the national team 'right now.'

“Playing for Gilas sounds good right now,” Paras said in his retweet of a Slam Philippines story of Ravena and Parks skipping the Fiba Asia Challenge Cup.

However, it is unlikely that he can be included in the lineup even if the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) wants to since he wasn't part of the initial 24-man lineup submitted to the Fiba Asia for the Challenge cup.

Paras' availability also remains uncertain, but it would definitely be a boost to a young squad that's facing the seniors' teams of the countries in the continent.
