THE visiting Hi-Tech Bangkok City pounced on the demoralized Pilipinas MX3 Kings to hack out a lopsided 86-64 victory on Sunday evening in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) at the San Juan Arena.
The former ABL champions banked on their smoother offense anchored on seven foot center Chris Charles to dominate the Filipinos from the opening tip and put away their third successive win.
Now mentored by former La Salle guard Jack Santiago, the Kings looked tentative on offense after a few days of uncertainty after a split saw the exit of former co-owner Manny Pacquiao.
"Alam n'yo naman na may changes sa team, ilang araw kami walang maayos na ensayo," said Pilipinas big man Jondan Salvador. "We'll try to bounce back."
Charles topscored for the Thais with 25 points and 19 boards.
Two-time PBA best import awardee Arizona Reid was unable to lift the Kings, finishing with 19 points, six rebounds and five turnovers as the MX3 Kings lost for the second successive time after winning its debut game against the Mono Vampire Thailand team last October 29.
